Cheers Dial Frequently Asked Questions
   
1. How does Cheers Dial work?
  Dial the access number provided by us for the country you are calling then dial our destination number with country/city code.  
     
2. How is it different?  
  Cheers Dial is different from other international calling solutions as there is no prepayment, pin number, phonecards and credit card details are not required.  
     
3. Do you charge an initial connection or membership fee?  
  No, there are no hidden costs involved other than what is mentioned.  
     
4. How do you charge call cost for different countries?  
  Cheers Dial rates are based on the Access number of the destination you are calling. Hence a set of countries with the same Access number would enjoy the same call cost when called from UK.  
     
5. Do you have different rates for peak hours?  
  No Cheers Dial comes at one uniform low rate for all hours.  
     
6. Does Cheers Dial work from public phones or mobiles?  
  Using Cheers Dial from public phones may involve paying a small surcharge in addition to your call cost. Please note that money from such costs is not passed on to to us but to the service provider. You can call the customer services of the different telecoms service providers to find out the exact surcharge they levy on public phone calls.  
     
7. How do you bill calls made through Cheers Dial?  
  Please note that we do not charge you for calls made, it is done by your existing telecoms service provider. However when you use Cheers Dial your bill will show the access numbers provided by us and not the number of the country you have called.  
     
8. Are Cheers Dial rates uniform for all service providers?  
  Cheers Dial rates are based on calls from BT landlines, you may need to check with individual telecoms operators on any surcharge they may be levying.  
     
9. How are call charges calculated?  
  Your call time starts when the connection to our access number is made and ends when you hang up. Please make sure to hang up immediately if your destination number is engaged or cannot be reached for other reasons, to avoid any possible errors in billing.  
     
10. Are call recipients charged when I call them using Cheers Dial?  
  In most cases there is no charge on incoming calls, rare exceptions are when a mobile handset of a different country is used to receive calls, which would add roaming charges.  
     
11. Can you indicate the savings I would make by shifting to Cheers Dial from my present operator?  
  While we assure you that there would be significant savings by shifting to Cheers Dial, the volume of savings would depend on destinations you are calling.  
  We have a dedicated tariff team keeping constant track of prevailing international rates in the industry to enable us to keep our rates low and competitive.  
     
12. I am a Cheers Dial subscriber but was surprised to note that I have been charged the existing international rate for a call I made and not the special rate.  
  Please call our customer services with your details and we will look into your specific problem. It is quite likely that you missed out on calling the access number of the country and dialled the actual destination number by mistake.  
     
13. Are Cheers Call rates VAT inclusive?  
  Yes, our rates include VAT.  
     
14. Can I use Cheers Dial when touring abroad?  
  No, usage of Cheers Dial is restricted to within UK.  
     
15. I have been using your services for a couple of months and feel that I have been overcharged in my latest bill.  
The charges for your calls to the access numbers are charged by your phone provider like BT, Virgin or others as the case may be. We do not levy these charges and you should take up your complaint with your telecoms service provider.

17. Do you charge any set up fee? Are there any kind of administrative charges involved to get started?  
  No, there are no costs other than what is mentioned.

  If anyone besides the bill payer is using the service, please ensure that you have his permission. Calls are charged as soon as they are connected to the access numbers, hence please ensure that you cut all unattended or engaged calls promptly and the receiver is quickly placed back. Cheers Dial rates are applicable from BT landlines, please check with other operators for their rates. Rates also do not include calls to mobile phones, premium rate numbers or pagers unless specifically stated. Cheers Dial services are subject to availability.
